Four doctoral students were awarded Grants-in-Aid from AAPG

Recently, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) announced the list of Grants-in-Aid for 2025. Fu Jian, Zhao Ziru, Mao Qiang, and Li Xiao, were awarded AAPG Global Research Grants sponsored by Fred A.&Jean Dix, with a maximum grant amount of $3000.

The AAPG Foundation Grants-in-Aid provides financial assistance to graduate students (currently enrolled in Masters or Ph.D. programs) whose thesis research has application to the search for and development of petroleum and energy-mineral resources, and/or to related environmental geology issues. Grants are based on merit and, in part, on the financial needs of the applicant. The funding application for this project is open around October each year and ends in January of the following year. The application results are announced in April and May. In 2025, 97 students worldwide were received the funding from over 265 application with a total grant of $248000 in 2025.
