On November 25, the Talent Competition, themed on “Bond Across Mountains and Seas—My Study Abroad Story in Qingdao” concluded in Qingdao. The international student team from UPC won the first prize with their choral performance of “I Love You, China”.

UPC International Students Performed “I Love You, China”
Hosted by the Qingdao Municipal Education Bureau, the competition aimed to diversify the cultural experiences of international students in Qingdao while showcasing their vitality and multicultural exchanges. The competition saw participation from 37 teams representing institutions across the city.On site, 50 international students from 14 countries, dressed in their national costumes and sang the classic song “I Love You, China”with heartfelt emotion. Their voices flowed with tender emotion at times and rose to powerful, soaring crescendos at others, expressing both a deep resonance with Chinese culture and an affectionate devotion to their second home. Their performance earned warm applause from the judges and audience, fully demonstrating the artistic talents and mental outlook of our international students.

At the award ceremony, Wang Dapeng, an international student from Uzbekistan and the representative of the winners, delivered a speech. He stated, “Although singing in Chinese is challenging for us, the experience deepened our understanding of China and forged friendships that transcend borders. It has been an unforgettable and invaluable experience.”
UPC will continue to expand channels for cultural immersion and build more platforms for practical education. These initiatives aim to comprehensively enhance international students’ understanding and emotional connection to China’s development and to cultivate a group of cultural ambassadors who know, befriend, and cherish China.
