On September 4th, UPC held a grand opening ceremony for new students of 2025.

Academician Hao Fang, President of UPC, delivered a speech titledAspire to Great Heights, Cultivate Virtue and Pursue Learningon behalf of UPC , and extended a warm welcome and heartfelt congratulations to the incoming students. He also paid tribute to their parents and teachers, who have nurtured them with unwavering dedication.

Hao Fang shared three aspirations with the new students:

First, to be grateful and take on responsibilities. He encouraged students to be grateful to the nation and the new era, keep China’s overarching goals in mind, and integrate their personal growth into the broader aspirations of our nation. With the sense of mission and responsibility that befits the youth of the new era, he urged them to endeavor to achieve remarkable accomplishments that would honor both their youth and the era.

Second, to study diligently and achieve unity of knowledge and action. Hao Fang hoped students would master the art of learning, continuously reinforce practical experience, nurture and elevate their innovative capabilities, fully leverage the platforms and opportunities offered by UPC, and evolve into erudite and contemplative innovators who act with clarity and determination.

Third, to cultivate virtue and develop a well-rounded personality. He encouraged students to cultivate a sense of reverence and tolerance, to nourish their souls and shape themselves with fine culture, to care for society and others, to convey the warmth of humanity with kindness, and to strive to become UPCers who serve society with innovation and warm the world with their character.
